HopeMob Launches First Fee-Free Online Fundraising Platform For Causes

NEW YORK, NY (PRWEB) December 10, 2012

HopeMob, a fast-growing global movement of generous strangers uniting to connect people in need with tangible resources, today introduced the industrys first fee-free online fundraising platform for charitable causes.

Typically online donation platforms charge transaction fees that range from two to 15 percent. These charges can add up to a significant amount of money that never gets to the intended cause. With the goal to give every dollar to a story in need of support, HopeMob covers the processing fees and does not take a cut of the funds raised, which means 100 percent of donations go directly to the cause.

With funding from nearly 1,000 donors, social entrepreneur Shaun King built the HopeMob platform in April 2012 to empower people globally to provide hope in simple ways. Originally, HopeMob users could vote and boost a story up through the queue until it becomes the featured story and the site was designed to focus on just one compelling story at a time and stay with it until the goal is met. However, the site quickly attracted millions of viewers and stories in the queue waiting to be told grew into the thousands, creating a pressing need for the founders to innovate the platform to allow for stories to be told simultaneously so that people can support more causes through the platform.

The power of the Internet and social media is fostering a new wave of humanitarian movements, said Shaun King, founder and CEO of HopeMob. Our newest innovation of HopeMob is the KickStarter for causes. Since our launch, HopeMob has changed peoples lives, creating impact around the world one story at a time and we have no intention of slowing down.

To date, HopeMob has successfully completed stories for 28 individuals and families from 15 states and seven countries. The HopeMob community is rapidly growing with more than 500,000 followers on Twitter and 120,000 on Facebook, over 2,000 active volunteers from 46 states and 25 countries on six continents, all of whom are committed to helping and mobbing people with hope.

King continued, HopeMob is rapidly expanding in volunteers, partners and causes, and we required a technology platform that could accommodate this growth as well as provide an easier and more interactive way to make connections. The new platforms features and capabilities eliminate some of the roadblocks to online giving.

The new HopeMob platform enhances the charitable giving experience and delivers greater value to givers and recipients by offering a unique set of features that are not available on any other charity platform, including:
